Laura Wright
Ceramic Artist
Laura Wright
Laura is a 30-year-old ceramic artist who has been working on the pottery wheel for about 15 years, with six of those years spent teaching in a variety of studio settings. After briefly owning an art studio in downtown La Crosse, Wisconsin, she chose to work independently, teaching wheel pottery at several local studios.
She often says that she loves teaching even more than creating her own artwork, finding the process deeply rewarding. From children’s art camps to one-on-one instruction, she has taught a wide range of studio classes. While she continues to learn about the world of ceramics, she considers herself largely self-taught.
A newcomer to the Twin Cities, she grew up in Wisconsin and has been fortunate to find a community of talented artists she now considers close friends. Her work has been featured in several galleries in La Crosse, including The Pump House Arts, and she recently began working at Continental Clay Company to further deepen her knowledge of ceramics and the community surrounding the craft.
She has worked hard to expand her reach as an independent artist and is passionate about helping others unlock their creative potential.
