Class Description

Strong drawing is the foundation of every visual art practice. This studio class helps students develop essential observational drawing skills using graphite and charcoal while learning to see like an artist.

Through still life, plaster casts, natural objects, and reference studies, students will explore line, shape, proportion, perspective, value, light, and composition. Lessons focus on building form through careful observation and understanding how light and shadow create depth, structure, and volume.

Rather than simply copying what they see, students learn the visual principles that allow artists to draw with confidence across a wide range of subjects. Individual guidance and demonstrations support each student's growth, making the class suitable for both beginners and artists looking to strengthen their technical foundation.

Whether the goal is painting, illustration, animation, architecture, or fine art, this class provides the core drawing skills that support a lifetime of creative practice.
